Who is Dr. Olivier Beckers.
Olivier Beckers is a facial surgeon at the university hospital of Brussels as a member of the European face centre. He obtained his doctor degree in medicine from the Catholic University of Leuven in 2011 and his degree in dental medicine from the same University in 2014. He was inspired and trained by his mentor, Professor Maurice Mommaerts, and recently joined his department after graduating. His work encompasses the entire spectrum of facial surgery with a particular subspecialty interest in facial esthetic, oncological and (patient specific facial implant) reconstructive surgery.
He was a fellow at the department of Professor Klaus-Dietrich Wolff (klinikum rechts der Isar, Munich) to enhance his expertise in microvascular free tissue transfer, at the oculoplastic department of Dr. Andre Litwin (Queen Victoria Hospital, East-Grinstead) to enhance his expertise in peri-orbital rejuvenation, at the department of Dr. Delphine Vertu-Ciolino (Hôpital Edouard-Herriot, Lyon) to enhance his expertise in functional, aesthetic and reconstructive nasal surgery and at the department of Professor Jean-Paul Meningaud (Université Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne) to enhance his expertise in facelift and complete facial makeover surgery.
In 2019 he finished his postgraduate training in facial plastic surgery at the University of Lyon (France). He is a doctorandus at the University of Brussels to obtain a doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) on the following subject ‘Towards a gender specific approach in malar (re)construction surgery’.
